Last week we took a trip to the north. We had planned it as a bit of vacation with the added value of getting to shoot something different from what we usually do. After some brief map checking we decided to try and get all the way up to the fjords in Norway. We packed the car full with gear and warm clothes and drove on the train in Helsinki with Kolari as our destination.
After a smooth 13 hour train ride we arrived at Kolari with an outside temperature of -30C, and drove off the train. Having driven only half an hour away, our car broke down and we were left scratching our heads. The cold had taken it’s toll and the motor was covered in snow and ice but luckily we had a local help us out with a tow truck. After some good reindeer burgers and a dozen cups of coffee at a local repair shop we managed to continue our journey. We decided to shoot three different locations, Kilpisjärvi, the fjords in Norway and a ski resort on Levitunturi. The trip was great fun and we got some really nice images that we compiled into a short book.
The book can be downloaded as an ebook and viewed on an idevice such as an iPhone or iPad, to view it you need to install the iBooks app and either open it from the idevice straight or download it to your desktop and sync with iTunes, or you can browse a low-resolution version below. I you like the book a lot it can even be ordered as physical copy through Blurb, the provider of the book creating software. Hope you enjoy viewing the book as much as we enjoyed creating it!
