This summer I visited Kiruna in northern Sweden to shoot for a client. After we finished I was told to visit the top of a nearby mountain for a great view. When I reached the top the scenery was just amazing.
I spent a good while up there just taking in the view and relaxing. A car drove into the scene and I just had to get a picture, I think it really adds scale to the vastness of the wilderness. Apart from a few electrical lines there wasn’t really many signs of civilization.
Now that the summer is ending and fall is arriving I think it’s nice to be able to travel back in time with the help of pictures. And if you’ve never visited Lapland in the summer, you should definately go!
During the summer we’ve been shooting the new theatre in Hämeenlinna. The building, which is built around an old factory and uses part of its walls, was designed by APRT and was finished in september 2010.

The intimate theatre hall is dressed in black and red, these being classic color choices for the drapes and chairs. The lobby is an almost total opposite with lots of white that emphasizes the huge space brought on by the newly opened windows.
I really like the strong contrast between the dark red of the chairs together with the blue sky and and dark concrete. It’s inviting and festive yet calm and serene. Makes me want to go see a play:)

We’ve been shooting the new Helsinki Music Centre for one of our clients. The project is quite huge and has spanned over several days. One of our favorite images is this view of the main concert hall. The vineyard-type main hall allows for seating almost all around the stage, allowing for some quite interesting views, and seats 1704 people. The acoustic consultant, Yasuhisa Toyota, has probably had his hands full with this project.
We will be uploading the full gallery in the near future so stay tuned. Have a good weekend!
It’s been a busy summer and we’ve been running around like crazy. We’ve had shoots all over Finland… (more…)
It’s been a busy summer and we’ve been running around like crazy. We’ve had shoots all over Finland. We’ve shot small summer cabins and large industrial complexes. Some we’ve shot from the air and others from several hundreds of meters under ground. The massive work amount has taken it’s toll and we haven’t had time to update our blog but that should hopefully improve now.
Last week while shooting images for a client, we decided to climb up to the roof to get some shots of the view.

The view towards Hietaniemi was quite amazing, it was as if the city ended in a wall of fog. It’s always nice to be able to shoot something out of the ordinary while on assignment:) Have a great weekend everyone!
