A good friend of mine – Stefan at Bergen Design – produces furniture for Harri Koskinen and I’ve been working for them every now and then. A couple of months ago we made a set of studio images of the Harri Koskinen Works -collection. Some of the shots made it to a postcard series for the Milan furniture fair. After shooting only one sports center in three years I suddenly got to shoot two in a month. This one – Latokartanon Liikuntahalli – is designed by Arkkitehtitoimisto Lehto Peltonen Valkama Oy. For now I have only taken interior shots. To get the most out of it we agreed to wait with the exterior shots until summer. This is one of the first times I consciously wanted to include people to give scale to an interior. The boys playing basketball were kind enough to let me photograph their training session and I think it worked out pretty well. Uploaded the rest of the images in a pass-word protected folder on photoshelter.

I took a couple of exterior images of Salmisaaren Liikuntakeskus for Arkkitehtitoimisto Pekka Lukkaroinen Oy the other night. It’s a huge sports center with facilities for indoor climbing and beach volley in addition to regular gyms etc. At 30 meters the climbing wall is the highest in Finland. I’m really looking forward to the interior photo-shoot later this month!

Tapiola Groups new office building in Espoo is close to completion. During the past weeks I’ve been working on an extensive set of both exterior and interior images for SARC Architects. It’s a huge building with gross area 73,000 square meters and a volume of more than 300,000 cubic metres. Somebody told me it’s the largest single office building ever built in Espoo. The lobby is dominated by a large visually compelling spiral staircase. Here are some sample images – as always if you are interested in viewing the complete set drop an email to get the password.
