Yesterday Leimdörfer announced a deal where Redevco sold Sampo-talo, an office property in Turku, to Aberdeen Property Investors. For more details, check out the press-release here. Sampo-talo was built in 1938 and has of course been renovated since then, but you can still sense the original feeling of the building in the board room and looking at the old elevators!

Just got back from shooting some exterior images of Fabianinkatu 27-29 for SARC Architects. Nearly froze my fingers off but I got a nice shot of the corner building… Since the sun sets so quickly this time of the year I’ll go back tomorrow for some more shots
Väiski – Väinämöisen kenttä – in Töölö has produced legendary HIFK icehockey players such as #17 Matti “Murtsi” Murto. Murtsi played 18 seasons (1964-83) for HIFK, scored 177 goals and 158 assists in 450 games. He also played in six world championships and two olympic games with the Finnish national icehockey team. HIFK has retired #17 (check out images from Nordis in previous post).
Finadvice today announced a deal where Sagax acquires two logistics properties from DSV. Logistics properties are visually well organized and are from my perspective fun to shoot. I enjoy trying to express the scale and size of the buildings and find repetitive patterns. Here’s two exterior shots of the properties.
I’ve been working on an interesting project – Best Western Katajanokka – for SARC Architects. It is an old prison building, protected by the National Board of Antiquities, that was transformed into a hotel in 2007. One of the curiosities is an old solitary cell (image 6) in the basement left in original condition. For those of you interested more images are available in a password protected gallery in my webstore.
